Journalist Investigation: The 2024 Election in Bali is too rigid for immigrants

Tuesday, 13 February 2024
BaliWartaGlobal. id,
It is truly disappointing when hopes of participating in the February 14 2024 election collide with a painful reality. When you are faced with the fact that the information you receive does not match the reality on the ground, this will certainly invite feelings of deep frustration. Apart from that, being rejected at several polling stations (TPS) because of his status as an immigrant from Jakarta was also an unpleasant experience. Their hopes for a smooth democratic process were dashed.

If possible, you can try to convey your experience to the authorities so that this problem can be resolved and does not happen to other people in the future. This disappointment can also be the starting point for positive changes in the electoral system in Indonesia, where every citizen has a fair opportunity to participate in elections.
An investigation by Warta Global Bali showed that many ballot papers were damaged. As many as 60% of immigrants in Bali are very disappointed because their right to vote has been lost. The election of 2024 in Bali system is too rigid, what should be made easier is instead made more difficult. In Bali there are many immigrants as casual laborers, domestic workers, traders, drivers, motorbike taxi drivers, journalists whose working hours are uncertain.

By just showing our KTP, we should be able to take part in this election. At least that is our hope.
